Ari and Zach’s Wedding

July 3, 2021

You don’t have to fight for your right to party here, for one night only the Alta Lodge will be just for us! We would love it if you chose to stay here with us because, just like Lionel Richie, we’re gonna have a party (yeah!) All night long (all night!)

A Note on Covid-19

Zach and I decided to postpone our wedding in the hopes of getting together with the people we love. To that end, to protect our guests, we ask that you get your vaccine before the event. We know you don’t have a lot of control over when vaccines are available to you, and if this isn’t feasible for you we are deeply sorry and love you so. We will have a zoom link set up for anyone interested in participating from a distance.

A Note on the Dress Code and the Wedding

If you know either Zach or Ari, you probably can guess wedding planning isn’t exactly in their wheelhouse. We are doing our best, but if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us directly at roachbar2020@gmail.com.

We had a few questions about the dress Code and we settled on semi-formal or dressy-casual. We hope you take the opportunity to get as festive and dressy as your comfort allows. This is a celebration, play with your look! Take risks! Our wedding is a judgment-free zone and what we want the most is for you to feel like the flaming hot babes we know you to be.

Where to Stay

Our wedding will take place at the Alta Lodge, Rooms at the lodge have been blocked for wedding guests to book. For room availability, pricing, and more information, click here.

You can also reserve rooms at the Snowpine Lodge, the Peruvian Lodge, and if you are looking for something a little fancier, the Cliff Lodge is just down the road.

Alta, Utah also has a number of AirBNBs and VRBOs. If you would prefer a lower-altitude stay, hotels in Sandy, Utah are most mountain-adjacent.

Travel and Transportation

The Alta Lodge is only 45 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport.
You can book an Alta Shuttle to take you from the airport or Amtrak to the lodge here: http://www.altashuttle.com

We are also happy to arrange some carpooling! If you think you’d like a ride, send us your arrival time and how many seats you think you’d need. If you have or are renting a car and are willing to take folks up the mountain, let us know how many seatbelts you have available and what time you want to leave! Email us here with the subject “Carpool”

Weather

You wanna feel the heat with somebody, Ms. Houston? Well Salt Lake City in July is pretty hot, but up in the mountains there will be highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. Rain is always a risk, so bring your brightest windbreaker and prepare to get into the groove!

Sightseeing

A curated list of recommendations from Zach and Ari:

  • The Temple; because no trip to Salt Lake is complete without saying hello to Space Jesus
  • Gilgal Sculpture Garden; it’s small, it’s free, and it’s actually really profoundly weird.
  • Red Butte Garden; our favorite date spot, and a great garden to stroll through.
  • Sunnyside Lift and Albion Basin; Alta keeps the Sunnyside Lift open in the summer and it’s a pretty ride to the top. You can also head into Albion Basin for an $8 fee and access all kinds of excellent hiking trails.
  • the Beer Hive; where Zach was an hour late to the rest of his life.
  • Ruth’s Dinner; go for a hike in Emigration Canyon before eating all those calories back and then some in Ruth’s iconic biscuits.
  • Current Fish and Oyster; A great seafood place for lunch, dinner, and Zach’s birthday.
  • Gourmandise; The place to go for dessert, home to an exemplary fruit tart.
  • Red Iguana; because you gotta.
